Note that the WBEs certificate is valid for one year after it has been received. This means that to enjoy the benefits, you need to apply for recertification each year.
The certification with the most benefits, including eligibility for federal contracting is provided by The Small Business Association. You can easily apply for the Women Owned Small Business Federal Contracting (for WOSB) through the WBENC at the same time as you apply for the WBE certificate (as described above) since they are an approved third-party certifier for WOSB as well as WBE.
To apply for women-owned small business certification, you will need to collect the same documents, except for resumes of the board of directors and other roles that relate only to medium and large businesses.

My journey to develop and create wise solutions for entrepreneurs, began as I watched my little girls cuddling with their Dad in bed. They were rolling as they giggled uncontrollably. Something sparked in me at that moment, and I realized that I would do whatever I could to give my daughters what they need to achieve their highest potential and reach their unique purpose in life (a.k.a. Calling or Ikigai).
As they rapidly grew, it became clear that I had to move super-fast if I was going to make this happen. Time was of the essence.
When we lived in a small village in Holland, we peddled bikes to school. After we moved to Colorado, we took highways. On a morning commute, when stuck in a traffic jam, I blurted-out to my kids, “I’d rather have you fly an airplane than drive these highways.” When my oldest daughter turned 15, she reminded me of what I said.
That’s when she took her first flying lesson in a single-engine airplane. The navigation tools and equipment were basic and learning them complemented her math and science homework. I believe her ‘view of the world’ was expanded. Nice views. But, slow, bumpy, and basic.
In sharp-contrast, my sister programs rockets which are much faster and go far beyond Earth’s atmosphere.
As I began creating and developing wise solutions, I reflected deeply on what I could do to empower and equip my daughters should they choose to pursue business.
I knew I could teach them a lot, but realized that it was not enough to simply teach them theoretical strategies of marketing and managing. They would need the best proven practices and techniques for profitable sales fast and for the long-term.
To succeed, they would need the speed and accuracy of a rocket. This speed could only be achieved by systemizing solutions to establish ease of use and by removing the costs barriers for infrastructure.
I realized that I would need to create and develop the required infrastructure for them and then give it to them. This would eliminate delays in the launch of their businesses.

They would need hands-on support as they learn and grow. Myself and other mentors could do this. They should be given specific steps to set-up to sell immediately. As they are earning, I will teach them to master their management and growth skills.
