Wise leaders know that we must challenge the status quo to grow both personally and professionally. These unprecedented times bring new clarity to this point.
I believe that true empowerment happens as we each become wise, and that we we increase in wisdom as we continue to learn and grow throughout our lives. We can and perhaps should learn from people in other parts of our world, but, even learning is not enough to become wise. We need tools and resources to successfully navigate in order to grow and create the desired transformation.
My deepest hope and intention for the Wise Women Network is that daughters (women of all ages) become empowered and enabled to discover and reach their dreams, and that this be premised on their individual purpose. I believe that in order for each of us to do this, we must become increasingly wise to understand what our dreams are. This process of self-discovery can be learned throughout the Wise Women Network.
I also believe that if we want to become truly empowered, we must persistently seek wisdom, share it with each other, and then apply it to create the change needed for ourselves individually, each other, and then the world around us.
For many years, we escaped as a family to the solitude of summer vacation in sunny Southern France. During these escapes, we forgot a little bit about complexities of life and re-bonded as a family. While relaxing, I would remember all the things I wanted my daughters to know and I felt a deep sense of urgency to teach them. In vigorous spurts of energy, I told them stories to help them understand some of the wisdom that I had learned and earned over the years about what was most important to me in life… like loving people and how to care for our bodies and our earth. I began to teach them how to discover what their unique purpose was, and how to live in a way that honors this.
One of those summers, when my youngest daughter was 5, she wisely suggested that we write a book together to include all the stories and information that I wanted them to know. She sweetly asked for the book to include pictures so that she could understand the concepts better.
I’ve zoomed through my adult life in public accounting, banking, and in countless volunteer roles campaigning and fundraising on boards and councils… while traveling the world, giving birth, rearing young children, and surviving tragedies.
Although I chose to take a few years off from my career to rear my children when they were young, I dove-back into public accounting when presented with a unique opportunity. I embraced navigating my career while managing a household with a traveling husband, two daughters, the neighborhood’s children, a dog, and major health issues. It was intense. Working against cultural and gender bias at this time increased the intensity and the magnitude of the obstacles that I needed to overcome.
My path in life was forever altered when I realized that the old-fashioned ways to succeed in business were not practical or possible for most people. Especially females who also wish to be involved parents face tremendous and often painful obstacles to meet career, retirement, and personal aspirations. Because of this, and for the sake of my own daughters and others, I became resolved to find wise solutions for females to successfully overcome and excel in all aspects of life.
During this time of intense growth, I kept detailed records about what had helped me most. I also listed what I would have liked to have had while I was juggling the world, and what I wanted for my young daughters to have later in their lives. These long lists were used to set the foundations of the Wise Women Network and establish it’s mission.
Our logo and business model create the shape of an hourglass. This reflects the concept of wisdom collection, wisdom dissemination, and time. In our time, we can each choose to seek and share wisdom to empower and enable ourselves to discover and live-out our unique purpose.
The Wise Women Network is founded on principles, strategies, systems, and structures that empower, enable, and equip each of us to live-out our dreams according to our life’s purpose.
Like most, I did not always know my unique purpose, and I often struggled when making mistakes while trying to understand how things work in life. It is truly a miracle that I survived to tell any story, but I did. And, I am here how, for such a time as this, to share the wisdom that I have learned over the course of my life through through living and working in different countries, as well as surviving and yet thriving in the midst of tragic events. This uniquely equips and enables me to help empower others to do this as well.
Many people talk about the wonderful idea of ‘living-out their dreams.’ However, most people do not know what their dreams are, how to discover them, or how to live them out.
I believe that a person’s dreams can and should be premised on their unique purpose in life. I’ve learned that discovering and living out your purpose is a process that is best understood as ‘a journey to live-out your dreams’.
This journey will take a little time and some reflection. The process has three phases that are connected and often inter-woven in time. Are you ready to begin?
Finding wisdom to help us understand ourselves and the world around brings meaning and clarity to our lives. Having this earlier in our journey increases the likelihood of us reaching our intended destination.
We walk fearlessly forward knowing we are equipped with guidance and structure to navigate life informed and prepared. Confidence leads to accomplishment.
To wisely-live-out-our-dreams we choose to make wise choices based on what is best for each of us, personally. Everything we need to fulfill our purpose everyday will take the form of inspiration, things that inform, people that can help or teach us, and stuff that makes us happy and leads to anticipation for what is to come. Wise and healthy options to choose from, combined with laughter, prolongs our lives. We choose to shop based on our individual purpose and our aspirations to live our lives efficiently focused on what increases joy and fulfillment. Happiness is wisely a part of our self-empowerment journey!
This is what I want for myself as well as my beloved family, friends, and for you. As such, strategies, systems, and structures are created and developed within the Wise Women Network in order to accomplish just that!
We can choose to embark on a journey to discover our unique purpose. Along the way, we find wisdom in the form of inspiration and information to guide and direct us. We use this wisdom to empower and equip ourselves with what we need to fulfill our purpose and reach our dreams.
In doing this, we grow in wisdom. I call this becoming ’empowered in our whole person’. To better explain what I mean by empowered in our whole person, I separate the state of being empowered into 3 distinct, but integrated pillars.
I believe that that empowerment begins on the inside and exudes outward. In other words, we each become enabled to discover, love, and strengthen ourselves on the inside; to embrace and care for our bodies including our health; and to find access to or create the solutions that truly help us to navigate life as efficiently and effectively as possible. By making these solutions readily available to females, we create advantages for purposes of leveling playing fields.
The old-fashioned ways of solving problems are completely changed…. You can call it mountain climbing, navigating life, or disrupting our lives to find ourselves… Whatever you name it, we can accomplish it… when we work together!
It is at the intersection of the 3 pillars, that we meet wisdom, discover our purpose, and become enabled to reach our dreams. Our epic journey is a progression and transformation of our whole being as we seek to grow, and learn, and share more. Our transformed lives transform our world.
To reach our dreams, we each can seek wisdom that helps us to discover our unique purpose, and then seek and find what we need to fulfill it.
To make the world a better place for ourselves and our children, we strive to share our most precious wisdom far and wide. We share and we encourage others to share wisdom earned and learned through experiences. Wisdom is shared in wise stories for inspiration and to create impact. Practical wisdom is also shared inside posts with mixed media, and in descriptions about wise products and services. Sharing precious information digitally makes it possible to easily and immediately spread it to many people. This furthers the reach of our impact.
By creating highly effective, efficient, and safe ways to seek and share wisdom we are able to use technology for doing good.

When I search for information online, I look for signs of honesty, excellence, and quality in the content, including the media. This includes pictures and posts I see and follow-up on, as well articles and blogs I read.
I often find myself questioning the integrity of information I find. Sometimes it seems that, everywhere I go online, or even when I am just walking or driving, I am interrupted to see something that is different from what I was hoping to find. This is because someone has paid to put the information in front of me. I find it unfortunate that even my children encounter this when they research for projects at school.
In the Wise Women Network, we have created and developed wise ways for people to seek and find wisdom in the form of information and inspiration without interruptions or bias in results from outside marketing initiatives. This helps us and our beloved family and friends to find what we seek in our journey to achieve our dreams.
While I was in a high pressure career, commuting to and from an office, while balancing family life, volunteer schedules, and travel, finding the precise service or product that I needed at that time was crucial to getting it all done. I’ve learned and experienced that compromise in selection or quality can kill momentum. It can even ruin lives.
As such, I deeply value being empowered and equipped with effective and efficient ways to attain my aspirations and achieve my purpose when shopping to get products or services that I want or need.
